What is Microblading
Microblading is a semi-permanent cosmetic procedure that allows reconstructing eyebrows with a hand tool. It is possible to achieve a natural finish or bolder looking effect. Eyebrow microblading is performed by manual deposit of pigment under the epidermal layer of the skin by a hand-held tool. Each stroke is manually applied onto the skin by the technician.
Eyebrow microblading is a completely bespoke service. The pigment used in the treatment will be chosen to suit your skin tone and your natural hair colour. The shape of the eyebrows will also be naturally enhanced to compliment your features. Gemma will assess your condition, and answer any questions you may have.
Who is it suitable for?
This method is ideal for anyone wanting to enhance their eyebrows. The result is natural-looking, hair-like strokes, regardless of the amount of hair present. It is perfect for those who want to fully reconstruct, define, or fill in over-plucked brows. Those suffering from alopecia or other conditions that cause hair loss benefit greatly from microblading.
Before and After
The difference between microblading and other semi-permanent cosmetics
Unlike permanent makeup brow treatment, the microblading technique involves drawing individual, crisp hair strokes that are more natural looking. Microblade is several times thinner than the needles used for tattoos. Compared to hair stroke technique performed with Permanent Cosmetics machine, microblading strokes heal a lot thinner and crisper. Therefore, eyebrow microblading can achieve a very natural-looking result.
What is the treatment like?
Once you are happy with the discussion and plan and we’ve gone through the initial consultation, you’ll be booked in for your treatment. On the treatment day, a topical anaesthetic cream will be applied on the eyebrows to numb the area so that the discomfort of the procedure can be minimised.
The healing process takes about a week. It is very important that a top-up treatment is done in about 6 weeks time, as every skin is different in terms of how it retains pigments. The result of a typical eyebrow microblading treatment should last from a year to 18 months.
